Tarot Card Reading for Today

Seven of Cups from the Simple Tarot

SEVEN OF CUPS

Be careful what you wish for! The Seven of Cups is about fantasy, illusion, and unquenchable desires. This card shows up when you are living in your daydreams and wishes for the future, believing in your own fantasy in order to escape reality without doing anything to actually change your life.

It’s not completely negative, though. It can also indicate a situation where you have too many wonderful choices or where you are in the creative dreaming phase of a new project.

TODAY’S TAROT QUESTION FOR THE SEVEN OF CUPS CARD

What is your naughtiest sexual fantasy? Have you ever shared it with anyone?

Daily Tarot Card of the Day for May 5, 2019

Seven of Swords

The Seven of Swords tarot card is about betrayal through trickery and dishonesty. Someone is being sneaky or is lying to you (or about you).

When you have someone gossiping about you, copying you, or hating on you in some way, it’s rooted in jealousy. As much as their words and behaviors hurt, their judgmental and critical behavior actually says more about their wounds than it does about your choices.

If YOU are the jerk who is gossiping, lying, or stealing, be prepared to have the truth come to light quickly. You will have to pay for the pain you’ve caused.

Today’s Tarot Question for The Seven of Swords Card

Who do you trust completely? Who do you trust only a little bit? Is that really trust at all?

Tarot Reading for February 6th

From the Simple Tarot deck

FIVE OF WANDS

The Five of Wands is about the positive challenges you face when you are in conflict or competition with others.

While conflict, rivalry, and strife seem like negative things, they are opportunities for growth. You’re going to have to suit up and fight. There’s no hiding any more. It is time to commit to reaching your goals at a level that scares you. This means changing your daily routines, beliefs, and habits quickly so you can work with absolute focus and clarity. There is no more room for daydreams and wishes. You need to Do The Work. There are NO exceptions or excuses.

Who are you in competition with?

Tarot Reading for February 5th!

From the Simple Tarot!

NINE OF PENTACLES

This is the card for individual prosperity and personal luxury. This isn’t the luxury of having a new convertible every year, or living on a yacht without ever having to do another day of work in your life. You aren’t resting on your laurels.

Instead, you’re enjoying them. True luxury means different things to different people, and this card is about recognizing and honoring what your true definition of luxury is.

Find your simplicity and independence by acknowledging and living this experience of ultimate personal satisfaction.

List 10 things you are grateful for right at this moment. Bonus: List 100!

Today’s Tarot Card is The Magician

From The Simple Tarot

THE MAGICIAN

The Magician is known as “The Alchemist,” the creator who makes something out of nothing. This card is about expressing your unique talents and turning them into something tangible in the world. It is an active, outwardly-focused card and is paired with The High Priestess, which is The Magician’s receptive and inwardly-focused magical counterpart.

Although it seems a bit woo-woo, this is a very practical card. The Magician guides you to create an environment, triggers, and routines to regularly and consistently bring yourself to a state of creative flow where you can make your own magic.

If you already have everything you need, what are you striving to gain?

Today’s Tarot Card is The Page of Swords

Deck by Angie Green The Simple Tarot

PAGE OF SWORDS

The Page of Swords, like all the court cards, can be interpreted as an actual person, as a role you play, or as a message. If it is an actual person in your life, it will be a stubborn, curious, talkative person with youthful energy who is constantly learning, but this isn’t only book-knowledge. This Page is eager to put information into action. Sometimes that eager energy means the Page acts without a plan or road map. This reckless action rarely brings positive results.

If you are struggling, you can’t wish for change. You must create a plan and then take step-by-step daily action to improve your situation.

Today’s Tarot Card is The Moon

THE MOON

Be on the lookout for unseen problems, deceptions, and haters. You could easily let your imagination and subconscious take you to dark and unfriendly places, so keep your anxiety in check.

Proceed with caution and prudence, but always let your intuition be your guide. This card is a VERY strong call to trust yourself. While The Star is about trusting the Universe, The Moon is about trusting yourself.

Pay attention to what isn’t said or what isn’t seen. Your imagination and creativity will guide you.

Tarot Card of the Day for December 27, 2018

The Simple Tarot deck by Angie Green

Four of Pentacles

The Four of Pentacles is about gathering, investing, and sharing what you have. Looking on the bright side, this card is about investing in yourself to create a solid foundation. You are feeling extremely security-conscious. You want to take care of yourself and build a future for the people you love.

On the other side of coin, it’s about hoarding and always wanting more. This results in the Four of Pentacles being a greedy miser who takes but never gives. Money, like all energy, needs to move. Share what you can with the people who need it and you’ll soon see more coming your way.

Today’s Tarot Question for The Four of Pentacles Card

When it comes to your physical environment, what are three tiny ways you can strengthen your sense of security today?

From Angie Green

Today’s Tarot Card for December 24th

Card from the Simple Tarot

From Angie Green:

The Star

The Star tarot card is sometimes called “the fairy godmother” card, because it arrives to let you know everything is going to work out fine. This is very good news, especially after the upheaval of The Tower, which proceeds it.

Have faith and believe that things are going to be okay, or even better than okay. They always have been and they always will be.

Sometimes, The Star is about being in the spotlight. If you’ve ever wanted to see your name in lights, it’s time to take center stage. Be authentically you and let your true light shine through.

Today’s Tarot Question for The Star Card

Would you like to be famous for something? For what? Are you willing to pay the price?

Major Arcana

Minor Arcana/Court Cards with Elements

Great deck for Reversals (explained in Part 2 of Tarot and Self Care, Episode 6)

Best starter decks! The Rider-Waite Deck has been around for a long time and has universal themes (you can pick up a deck on Amazon) and The Simple Tarot by Angie Green (TheSimpleTarot.com) is based on the Rider Waite but with modern illustrations and best of all, KEYWORDS right on the cards to make learning easy and fun!

Here I took the quite ominous 8 of cups by Rider Waite and compared it to Angie’s Simple Tarot and you can see the difference even though they’re based on the same themes. This is why I highly recommend getting both decks.

In R.W. (I have to abbreviate or you’ll be sick of reading the names of the decks just as much as I am writing them 😉) you see a nonplussed looking moon, mountains surrounded by water, a man with his back to us walking away from the cups using a stick to aid his uphill path, and he seems to be on a piece of land surrounded by the water as well. If I hadn’t put the cards side by side, what do you think this card is trying to convey? (Please let me know what you think in the comments! I love starting an interesting conversation, especially about Tarot! 🗣)

Now take as look at the S.T. Pretty clear right? I don’t know if I wouldn’t have come up with “Intuition” by the R.W. deck if I was just starting out. Sure there’s a moon but it’s night time. I get the gist of an uphill battle and starting out on a new path, but not from the swamp, looking like small hills that are depicted. In the S.T., Angie has a much more consice interpretation. The moon has the keyword of “Intuition” along with the Mountain has ” seeking a new path” , We see the 8 cups lined up like a pyramid unlike them in just 2 rows in the R.W. The key words “A Turning Point and Voluntary Withdrawal” may not be conveyed as consicely for some beginners.

If you want to learn about the Tarot, learning how to use your intuition along with it, and a comparison of popular decks like the one I did above, leave me a comment below!

Hope you’re having an amazing day!

The Moon Card from the Major Arcana Explained

The Moon tarot card shows a tame dog and a wild wolf howling at the moon. There’s a water scorpion (or lobster?) as well. The moon is illustrated combined with the sun, and is centered between two towers.

This card is one of three (The Star, The Moon, and The Sun) that follow the crisis of The Tower.

Keywords for The Moon Card

• Proceed with caution

• An unclear and difficult path ahead

• Slow down & pay attention to your intuition

• Follow your intuition, imagination, and dreams

Keywords for The Moon Card Reversed

• Truths are revealed

• Good common sense prevails

• No more hiding or fear

The Moon Card Explained

The Moon follows The Star, and points out that things may not be as they seem. This card shows up when it is time to trust and follow your intuition.

Be on the lookout for unseen problems, deceptions, and haters. You could easily let your imagination and intuition take you to dark and unfriendly places, so keep your anxiety in check.

Proceed with caution and prudence, but let your intuition be your guide. This card is a very strong call to follow your intuition.

Pay attention to what isn’t said or what isn’t seen. Your imagination and creativity can guide you. You should also be writing down – or at least reflecting on – your dreams. They may have a message for you.

Patterns and Correspondences of The Moon Card

• Major Arcana = the arc of your life’s journey and spiritual growth

• Zodiac sign = Pisces

• Planet = the Moon, of course

• Element = water

The Chariot

Meaning:

When the Chariot arrives today, be sure that you are the ones taking the reins in order to control the outcome of your situation. The Chariot also could signify a Cancer in your life, or a Cancer about to make an appearance in your life. The zodiac sign Cancer is a hard worker, and attains success through long and sustained efforts. This is the message of the Chariot. Victory is assured, but it won’t come quickly. This could mean a new skill you take on, some upgrading in education, or taking the lead on a project at work. It could also mean that you make the next big move in love. It’s important to remember that you only take on what you can complete, otherwise, victory will be lost. Know also that this card is about effort that leads to success. This is not victory that comes knocking on your door. You will need to put some effort in, and there could be some bumps along the way, but with the effort and determination of the Chariot, victory is almost definitely assured.

Symbolism:

When the Chariot arrives, know that you are well on your way to a well earned victory. The Chariot is embodied by the zodiac sign Cancer, and this is Cancer’s card. Cancer is a hard worker and doesn’t realize anything quickly, and these traits are the inherent meaning of the Chariot. Here we see a man on a chariot, surrounded by the golden aura of victory. This card symbolizes a time in the ancient days when the victor would ride through the streets on a chariot to celebrate a victory. In this card, you are holding the reins, and are feeling great power and the smell of a big win. This is the card that says, you are in the driver’s seat of your own Destiny! Moving ahead towards your victory is not only possible, but probable when you see your card. The important thing to remember when you see this card is, you are the Master of your Fate.

Today’s Tarot Card Reading is the Death card in the Major Arcana (Fear Not)

Meaning:

When the zodiac sign Scorpio cuts something out of their life, in order to improve their life, that thing is “dead to them”. This is the message of the Death Card, the card that symbolizes the zodiac sign Scorpio. Something in your life is about to be “dead to you”, but that’s not a bad thing. You may also have the presence of a Scorpio enter your life, or maybe you are a Scorpio and are working on a big change. Profound change, transformation, and new beginnings are the promise of this card. Many people often think the worst when they see this card and fear death will enter their day. This is simply not the case. Your relationship may go from single to engaged for example when you see this card. This card is about a major change that is going to be a turning point in your life. And the best part? The Sun will come out tomorrow, and it is going to be amazing.

Symbolism:

The Death card is often an ominous sounding card to many that get a Tarot reading, but it shouldn’t be taken that way. This myth needs to be rebuffed, because the Death card is not necessarily a sad card, and in fact, rarely symbolizes an actual death in your life. The Death card directly corresponds with the zodiac sign Scorpio, who is the zodiac sign that is all about deep and personal transformations. This is not even a dark card, as the figures are almost in black and white, but for the Sun that is glowing brightly on the horizon. So the message of this card is not death at all, but death of a way of living. There is transformation in play in your life when you see this card, and you will encounter this change in a way that makes you a different person. Every change is uncomfortable of course, that is called being human. But the promise of Death however is that once you put the old you behind, the Sun is on the horizon ready to welcome this new experience in your life.

Today’s Tarot Card Reading is the Moon!

Meaning:

When The Moon appears in a reading, your intuition and your emotions will prevail over intellect in your situation. This is a key reason why this card symbolizes the intuitive Water Sign of Pisces. Pisces is a reflector, and uses their psychic gifts to ponder over situations, and pull back to do so on occasion. There is something missing from the picture, or at least from your picture. You do not have all of the facts at hand to make any decisions, either in love or in play at this time. Follow your heart and your intuition, and don’t be afraid to ask for psychic messages either. Pull back and meditate or listen to your instinct. What is it telling you? The missing puzzle piece is there! It may not be available to you right now, but the night does not last forever, and in due time this information will reveal itself.

Symbolism:

The Moon appearing in a reading is an advisement that you are not clear of all of the details, and there is more at play in the situation than you may think. As the Moon pulls back in the night sky, so too does the querent in this situation. You are being asked to pull back. And this is why this card symbolizes the zodiac sign of Pisces, who is known for retreating to the cave on occasion. This card is a darker card in the Tarot, but it does not necessarily have a dark interpretation. Rather this card represents confusion sometimes, and a lack of clarity on a key issue. Here we see The Moon up in the sky, surrounded by darkness and clouds. There is more at play than meets the eye here, there is information that you do not have available to you that is pertinent to the situation you are asking about. The Moon rules intuition and emotions. These are the factors that you must use to seek clarity. Like the Full Moon in the sky shedding light on the world, it’s time to pull back and look at your life and situation from the perspective of The Moon. What puzzle piece are you missing? When you pull back, the Moon reveals that missing piece.

The Empress

Thanks to Andrea Green, she gives the meaning and journal tip for this week!

The Empress is the card of nature, growth, slow and gradual natural change, patience, pregnancy, harvests, the seasons passing, and life itself.

She can be compared with the other female cards in the Major Arcana, for example, the World card is how Nature appears to us, and the Star card is hidden nature. The Empress is the goddess, the power and patterns behind everything.

This card means that all things are due in time, and may also be compared to the Queen of Pentacles, another very nature-based card. It carries a similar meaning of nurturing, of compassion and care. Both are cards of the mother and motherhood.

If it appears in a past position, that time of growth has passed, and nothing new will arise; it is time to seek a new field to seed, nurture and harvest.

Journal Exercise & Insiders Tip

When reading, we can weave an interpretation from all the individual symbols on a card – even doing a very deep and detailed one-card reading!

Here’s how we would do it on the Empress card, and then for your journal this week, why not try it with one of the other cards, or one you pull for a real question?

Full-Grown Wheat: “What you have planned and seeded, worked so hard to accomplish, has now come to happen – it is time to take the fruit of your work. In a way, it is up to you to now harvest and reap what you have sown. Take time to enjoy this pause in your hard work”.

Venus Symbol: “Everything is coming together, perhaps even a romantic or equal partnership – the circle and the cross – the active and the passive. It is all happening in its own good time and good things will grow from this union”.

Shield: “You are protected, and can be assured that there is safety in what is happening. Everything is being taken care of, so go for the enjoyment of the ride”.

Couch/Cushion: “Relax and sink into what is happening, don’t fight it. Take time to rest and recover, as things go their own course. Don’t meddle or interfere at this point, there is no need to do anything other than sit back”.

Sceptre: “Whilst you are the cause of what is happening, you should pull back from adding any more into the mix. There is a time to be regal and take the high ground, and this is it – there is no need to keep digging or working!”

Crown of Stars: “Everything will happen in time, and you should have patience, with an eye to the fates and fortunes of the stars. What you have set in motion is now flowing to a conclusion, let it happen”.

Waterfall: “Again, there is a flow and a torrent of things coming to a head, so the less you are involved at this late stage, the better”.

Where else can you see symbols on the Empress?

How would this apply to a job question? A relationship question?

Now try this with another card!
