Atacamite Properties

Atacamite is a result of the oxidation of copper ores in saline or arid conditions.

It’s also a volcanic product in Vesuvian lavas.

Atacamite is a copper chloride hydroxide mineral that is also polymorphous with two other minerals, Botallackite and Paratacamite.

Atacamite can exhibit different shades of green, although it’s usually a rich dark green color.

It can also be transparent to translucent with a hardness rating of 3, making it quite a soft gemstone compared to others.

This mineral was first discovered in the Atacama Region in Chile in 1801. Atacamite was added to the list of mineral species by D. de Gallizen in the same year.

Atacamite is also known as Remolinite, Alacamite, or Peruvian Green Sand (when in powdered form).

It’s quite a rare mineral which can only be found in the Atacama Desert in Chile. But there are also notable occurrences of Atacamite in West Africa and South Australia.

Ulexite is an interesting stone, that may be either colorless or white, and has fiber-optic capabilities.

Where Is It From? Ulexite Meaning

This stone comes from the Californian mountains and deserts in the USA. The meaning of the Ulexite name comes from it being named after the German chemist George L Ulex who resolved its chemical make-up.

Its nick-name is TV stone, because of its strange characteristics. If you place the stone on top of written material, and look through the stone at the right angle it may be reflected in the top of the stone, like a TV.

It is not always easy to make this happen, and I have found it difficult to make my specimens of this stone reflect exactly as reported. All of this makes it something of a curiosity, yet this is of no real importance, for those who buy the stone for metaphysical purposes.

It is a white fibrous mineral and although it is commonly white in color, some have semi-clear patches.

It is similar in looks to Selenite, and like Selenite it may melt or distort in some way when put in water, so it must be cleansed with care.

So use one of the crystal cleansing methods that are safe for these types of stones.

Who Should Use It?

This stone will help to enhance your creativity, and may bring through an amazing number of imaginative thoughts into your conscious mind.

It is also an excellent aid to see what is causing a specific problem, and this may aid you to find a solution to what is going on in your life.

Shamans have utilised crystals to access other realms of consciousness for tens of thousands of years. I find crystals make shamanic journeying so much smoother. They instantly transport you where you need to go. The subtle vibrations generated by crystals facilitate changing your level of awareness with ease. They also provide a ‘shamanic anchor’, a grounding cord that holds you safely while you journey to other realms – and facilitates your return. Some of my favourites are listed below.

Shamanic power

You have only to imagine yourself standing with me at sunrise in Stonehenge with drums beating and chants rolling around the sarcen stones activating the immense forcefield created by the central Bluestones to recognise the truly awesome power of stone. I don’t use that word awesome lightly. In fact I usually avoid it. But when talking about the ability of crystals to amplify your connection with other realities and to move your consciousness outside time, no other word will do. Whether we’re looking at beautiful, luminous Quartz crystals or seemingly dull lumps of rock, we are talking power-full. Each crystal (a word I use for all stones not just the shiny ones) has its own unique, and very specific, beneficial frequency.

Introducing this frequency into your energy field brings about healing on many levels, reintegrating the soul, rebalancing the subtle etheric body and from there the physical not only of the human body but also of the planet itself. But it can also facilitate your journeys to other worlds.

The first religion

Shamanism is said to have been the first spiritual practice of humankind. It not only worked on behalf of individuals but held communities together. As grave goods show, crystals supported that practice right back into pre-history. Archaeologists in northern Israel have discovered the world’s oldest known shaman grave. The 12,000-year-old interment holds an elderly female of the mysterious Natufian culture together with her shamanic tools: animal parts, a human foot and the fragment of a basalt scrying bowl. Shamans operate outside ordinary reality. They, as with crystal workers, recognise that subtle energies influence the physical world, not the other way round.

I love it when the archaeological and academic worlds support my reality. My local Wiltshire Museum has an outwardly ordinary but actually rather extraordinary circular Milk (Snow) Quartz stone from the Upton Lovell Barrow. It was found on the chest of the man buried in a ‘Shaman’s grave.’ Traditionally Milk Quartz gives you mental clarity, assists in controlling emotion and enhances trance states. The museum description says ‘The stone may be a working tool or a part of his religious paraphernalia – perhaps the stone that helped him see his visions.’ The fact that this stone was placed over his heart suggests that it was rather special to him. It is very similar to the extraordinarily powerful ‘Nubian Temple stones’ found in Upper Egypt (see www.angeladditions.co.uk and www.judyhall.co.uk).

The grave is that of an early British shaman who also worked as a goldsmith – the alchemical wonderworkers of the ancient world. There were also four cups made from split flint nodules in the grave. His costume was rather extraordinary too: he was ‘buried in a cloak to the edge of which 36 bone points had been sewn. A further group of bone points found on his chest were possibly from a necklace. Four pierced boar’s tusks found by his knees may have decorated a pouch. Among his grave goods were four axeheads, including a prestigious axe made of black dolerite. To shamans everything in the physical universe is alive and imbued with spirit or life force, particularly crystals. Shamans, intermediaries between the physical and spiritual levels of being, traditionally used crystals for soul retrieval, empowerment, divination and journeying between the worlds to seek insights and solutions. All facilitated by crystals. Certain crystals even have specific allies, power animals or spirit beings, connected to them to assist you in your quest. According to traditional shamanic cosmology there are three planes of consciousness, the Lower, Middle and Upper Worlds. To this, from my crystal shamanic experience, I would add a fourth, the Celestial (or stellar) which could be viewed as an extension of the Upper World. These worlds may be looked on as inner planes, part of the archetypal collective unconscious or the human psyche. Or, as shamanic crystals teach, as different levels of the multi-dimensional reality that surrounds and interpenetrates us.

The Lower World is so called because it has a denser vibration in contrast to the much lighter ‘higher’ vibration of the Upper World. The shaman moves through these worlds in a light form of trance or heightened awareness. This is where crystals are so helpful. Their frequency meshes with the shaman and acts as a vehicle to transport consciousness to the various planes. Many, such as Preseli Bluestone, act instantly. The dense, earthy stones such as Flint or Celestobarite are particularly useful for traversing the Lower World and, indeed, Neolithic peoples interred Flint into their graves to act as a portal to carry the soul between the worlds. High vibration crystals, such as Brandenberg or Moldavite, take you to the Upper World and on to the Celestial. Moldavite actually arrived on this planet from ‘above’, that is from outer space, and it together with Libyan Gold Tecktite knows the way home.

Shamanic crystals work when your own vibrations are in harmony with the stone. If a crystal does not appear to work for you, hold it and gently concentrate on your palm. You may feel a tingle and your body will shift slightly as it attunes to the crystal. If so, persevere, sitting for ten minutes a day until the crystal begins to work. If not, choose another crystal. A shamanic crystal may bring about a strong cathartic reaction or healing challenge. If this occurs, remove the crystal immediately and hold a Chlorite or Smoky Quartz point down towards your feet to facilitate the release of energy moving out of your body. Wait a day or two before using the high vibration crystal again.

Crystal Journeying

Crystal journeying can be carried out lying or sitting down in a place where you will not be disturbed (turn off your phone!). It needs to be a safe, sacred space – four or five Black Tourmalines, Clear Quartz, Smoky Elestial Quartz or Selenite crystals set out around you that you have asked to protect you will ensure that the space is clear. You can use a drum or chanting CD to assist if you wish, especially one that has a specific ending to call you back. Some people like to sit or lie beneath a special blanket. Suitable journeying stones are shown below.

Choose your crystals, cleanse it and hold the crystal loosely in your hands and set your intention. Be very clear about why you are journeying. State your aim, whether it is for healing, insight, and so on. And set the intention that you will return with the answers fully available to your everyday conscious mind. (You may also like to set a return time, say in fifteen or twenty minutes.)

You can then either lie back and close your eyes while holding the crystal or place it on an appropriate chakra, or sit and gaze with half-closed, softly focused eyes into your crystal – this is particularly useful if you are using Shaman Quartz or a Quartz with inner planes and inclusions that take your eye deep into the crystal. Breathe gently, establishing a comfortable rhythm. If you are not using the crystal as an entrance to the other worlds, picture a venerable tree with a hole beneath its roots, or a ladder to the upper world, and ask your crystal to take you through that entrance directly to whichever world you wish to access.

It’s almost like the feeling of when you’re bloated. Then the tingling stretches up my arm and I can feel it in my tongue I can feel it in my solar plexus, crown and several other chakras. It’s very intense but when I’m done, I feel physically so much better and of course mentally too. They also enable me to go to higher states of consciousness and aid in meditation and channeling for my clients in my spiritual business. I can’t say enough about using the stones for meditation. They are extremely high vibrational and help develop different psychic senses such as all the Clairs, intuition, and mediumship for those first learning.

Shaman Stones are helpful in overcoming the fear of death and the fear of pain, freeing one to pursue one’s path without limitation. They are stones of the ascetic, helping one learn to overcome physical discomfort in the search for spiritual enlightenment.

Moqui Marbles

There are many legends surrounding these strange stones; shamans use them to heal and communicate with other realms and Hopi Indians play marbles with their ancestors to gain knowledge.

Moqui Marbles or Mochi Stones are mysterious sandstone balls covered in hematite (iron ore) and were discovered in the Navajo Sandstone Formation in Utah.

These stones are found in pairs: one more rounded formation which is considered the female and has a – charge and the disk-like formation which has a + charge. They have an uncanny ability to realign the energy body and energy centers immediately, without a lot of mumbojumbo.

When we work with computers all day, or have night shifts or generally get into a negative spiral, our energy polarity (male/female or +/- charge) can get off balance. These stones reboot the +/- energy flow and stabilize the energy field.

These stones are filled with energy to be used. So for this Holy week, I will be discussing some crystals with loving, spiritual connections.

Fulgurite: “The Finger of God”

Properties: The lightning stone, fulgurites are some of the most powerful stones and along with the power of prayer, they can help to manifest one’s visions. Fulgurites have a high-frequency vibration and seem to hold a clear, strong resonance with the powerful electrical force that created them. Their extreme “lightning energy” is believed to be the touch of the Divine. This energy, which now resides in them, acts as a magnifier of one’s clearer intention, building a powerful resonance between oneself and the powers of the higher Universe.

Fulgurites are powerful stones for grounding. History: Fulgurite is the name given to fused Quartz, Si02, which has been struck by lightning and melting sand or rock. The best known fulgurites are found in quartz sand, where the fulgurite take the form of tubes, sometimes exceeding a half inch or more in diameter. This type of formation is called sand fulgurite. As the lightning strikes the Earth and courses downward through the sand, the sand is instantly super heated, melted and fused together. After cooling, hard hollow tubes can be located beneath the surface of the sand, generally decreasing in diameter and sometimes branching as they descend, sometimes extending for several feet. The outer surfaces sand fulgurites are often rough with adhering, unfused Quartz sand grains. The inner surfaces and openings of the tubes are usually smooth and glassy, in some specimens resembling an applied glaze, sometimes with blister-like bubbling present. Rock fulgurites are formed when lightning strikes the surface of a rock, melting and fusing the surface, and sometimes the interior of the rock. The melting point of Si02 is 2950oF. The color of the glassy, fused Si02 varies from pale gray, to smoky gray, to shiny black. The name fulgurite is from the Latin word “fulgur” meaning lightning.

Where Is It From? Septaria Meaning

These crystals are also known by the names Dragonstone, Septeyre and Septarian stone. There are two schools of thought about the meaning of the name Septaria.

The first meaning is thought to originate from the Latin word ‘saeptum” meaning partition due to the cracks or separations in the stones. The second meaning pertains to the Latin word ‘septum’ meaning seven, as many stones seem to occur with seven sections.

Within these stones you will find a mixture of minerals, commonly Calcite (the yellow parts), Aragonite (the brown lines) and possibly white (Baryte) or grey (Limestone or Chalcedony), depending on the specific minerals that make up that particular stone.

Septarian Stone

Deposits of this unusual stone have been found in England, Spain, Madagascar, Australia, New Zealand, Canada and the USA.

Each piece is a mixture of colors, and individual stones vary quite considerably.

Septarian stones are often quite beautiful, with the common colors being combinations of yellow, brown, white and/or grey.

These stones formed around 50 million years ago, with liquid filled with mineral matter being deposited into fissures, and then solidifying like concrete in these fissures, called concretions.

Crystal Grids

I absolutely love crystals, stones, and geodes. I use them in my psychic and mediumship practice and let their high vibration wash over me during meditation, channeling, and even when I’m going to sleep. I firmly believe that the stones, some are millions of years old, can absolutely change the way we feel, how we handle stress and anxiety and hire our vibration. They can help to achieve connection with the spirit world and just so much more. Stones and crystals have a life of their own. Just as plants are alive so to our Crystals. And for the millions of different crystals out there, each one has a specific purpose to help us. Today I’d like to talk about Crystal grids and how combining high vibrational crystals and certain geometric patterns can create an incredible powerful source. Now if your novice, not to worry because you can start a crystal grid with readily available and inexpensive stones such as clear quartz, amethyst, and rose quartz. Clear quartz is a wonderful amplifier. It will boost the energy of the other stones around it. Amethyst, is a stone that reduces stress and anxiety, Has a calming affect on the body and is also a good aid in communicating with your higher self, angels/spirit guides and passed loved ones. Rose quartz, is known as the crystal of love. It is usually a light pink color, you can purchase them as a polished tumble stone, I myself like to work with raw Stones as much as possible. It’s definitely a preference so if raw is not your thing, used the polished ones. 😊 I like the feeling of the grittiness the natural state of the stone and not having it changed by human hands. There are plenty of wonderful crystal grids you can find on Google for free. Just download the image and print it out and stack your crystals the way you like. In the picture above I’m using the spiral, also known as the golden ratio. Fibonacci Spiral is a spiral that contains the golden ratio.  Which means that for every 1/4 turn the spiral makes, it gets wider or away from the origin by a factor of Phi (1.618) The spiral is a symbol of continual growth.  It represents Kundalini energy and spiritual development. I decided to use this to enhance my channeling and meditation I have used two Keystones which are the big blue Celestine in the middle and at the end of the spiral. Usually only one keystone is used but I felt intuitively to use two. It radiates all of that pure energy within and outward.

Looking at the grid I created, you’ll see the stones I used for the keystone is blue celestite. This stone is amazing for connecting with angels and past love ones aand heightening your vibration. Even though I placed the major celestite on the outside (at the end of the spiral) I placed the other one in the middle and I started from there. I went counter clockwise by placing second keystone in the middle and then the next stone that I added was clear quartz, after clear quartz I added amethyst, and in between each stone I have added a clear quartz which are wonderful amplifiers for this whole grid. So after amethyst, I used lapis lazuli and then amazonite. So if you look at it it is from the middle outwards, it is blue celestite, clear quartz, amethyst, clear quartz, lapis lazuli, clear quartz, Amazonite, clear quartz and so on all the way until I get to that outer keystone piece. I was also guided to add selenite to the other 3 corners outside the grid. You can take a look at my picture for this particular crystal grid and if you have any questions don’t hesitate to ask!
