Today’s Tarot Card Reading is the Moon!

Meaning:

When The Moon appears in a reading, your intuition and your emotions will prevail over intellect in your situation. This is a key reason why this card symbolizes the intuitive Water Sign of Pisces. Pisces is a reflector, and uses their psychic gifts to ponder over situations, and pull back to do so on occasion. There is something missing from the picture, or at least from your picture. You do not have all of the facts at hand to make any decisions, either in love or in play at this time. Follow your heart and your intuition, and don’t be afraid to ask for psychic messages either. Pull back and meditate or listen to your instinct. What is it telling you? The missing puzzle piece is there! It may not be available to you right now, but the night does not last forever, and in due time this information will reveal itself.

Symbolism:

The Moon appearing in a reading is an advisement that you are not clear of all of the details, and there is more at play in the situation than you may think. As the Moon pulls back in the night sky, so too does the querent in this situation. You are being asked to pull back. And this is why this card symbolizes the zodiac sign of Pisces, who is known for retreating to the cave on occasion. This card is a darker card in the Tarot, but it does not necessarily have a dark interpretation. Rather this card represents confusion sometimes, and a lack of clarity on a key issue. Here we see The Moon up in the sky, surrounded by darkness and clouds. There is more at play than meets the eye here, there is information that you do not have available to you that is pertinent to the situation you are asking about. The Moon rules intuition and emotions. These are the factors that you must use to seek clarity. Like the Full Moon in the sky shedding light on the world, it’s time to pull back and look at your life and situation from the perspective of The Moon. What puzzle piece are you missing? When you pull back, the Moon reveals that missing piece.

The Empress

Thanks to Andrea Green, she gives the meaning and journal tip for this week!

The Empress is the card of nature, growth, slow and gradual natural change, patience, pregnancy, harvests, the seasons passing, and life itself.

She can be compared with the other female cards in the Major Arcana, for example, the World card is how Nature appears to us, and the Star card is hidden nature. The Empress is the goddess, the power and patterns behind everything.

This card means that all things are due in time, and may also be compared to the Queen of Pentacles, another very nature-based card. It carries a similar meaning of nurturing, of compassion and care. Both are cards of the mother and motherhood.

If it appears in a past position, that time of growth has passed, and nothing new will arise; it is time to seek a new field to seed, nurture and harvest.

Journal Exercise & Insiders Tip

When reading, we can weave an interpretation from all the individual symbols on a card – even doing a very deep and detailed one-card reading!

Here’s how we would do it on the Empress card, and then for your journal this week, why not try it with one of the other cards, or one you pull for a real question?

Full-Grown Wheat: “What you have planned and seeded, worked so hard to accomplish, has now come to happen – it is time to take the fruit of your work. In a way, it is up to you to now harvest and reap what you have sown. Take time to enjoy this pause in your hard work”.

Venus Symbol: “Everything is coming together, perhaps even a romantic or equal partnership – the circle and the cross – the active and the passive. It is all happening in its own good time and good things will grow from this union”.

Shield: “You are protected, and can be assured that there is safety in what is happening. Everything is being taken care of, so go for the enjoyment of the ride”.

Couch/Cushion: “Relax and sink into what is happening, don’t fight it. Take time to rest and recover, as things go their own course. Don’t meddle or interfere at this point, there is no need to do anything other than sit back”.

Sceptre: “Whilst you are the cause of what is happening, you should pull back from adding any more into the mix. There is a time to be regal and take the high ground, and this is it – there is no need to keep digging or working!”

Crown of Stars: “Everything will happen in time, and you should have patience, with an eye to the fates and fortunes of the stars. What you have set in motion is now flowing to a conclusion, let it happen”.

Waterfall: “Again, there is a flow and a torrent of things coming to a head, so the less you are involved at this late stage, the better”.

Where else can you see symbols on the Empress?

How would this apply to a job question? A relationship question?

Now try this with another card!

Today’s Tarot Card Reading is the 4 of Swords

Meaning:

This card is a healing card that comes after the heartbreak of the 3 of swords. Most Tarot decks show religious symbolism, as if this healing is taking place in a church. Symbolism:

In the 4 of Swords we see a person lying on a bed, or in some interpretations on a slab of concrete. The individual is at rest, and hanging on the wall above them are three swords. Alongside the bed there is one sword that has been put down. This is a card that symbolizes healing after pain. The pain can be physical or emotional. The bed can represent a hospital bed, a bed in a jail, or a metaphorical bed of healing. After the heart ache felt in the 3 of swords, a time of respite and recovery is required. The remaining three have been hung until they are needed again.

Today’s Tarot Card is The Sun!

Meaning:

When you see The Sun appear in your Tarot reading or in your Daily Tarot, then you know it’s going to be a great day! The Sun is shining on you! This day is the summer of your life, and the Sun embodies success, abundance, and an optimistic feel to the situation that can not be matched by anything else. There are flowers growing that symbolize abundance and joy, and the abundance that comes from having light in your world. A child decorated with the wreath of laurels that signify success plays on a white horse that represents purity, joy, and innocence. A bright orange wreath suggests action and movement will occur in the situation that will have you feeling like you are on top of the world. You may create this action, or something wonderful may simply find its way to you. In any event, the Sun is definitely shining on you and your situation.

Cups represent Water Signs, and so this could be a message of a Pisces, Cancer, or Scorpio entering your day to help you with a key emotional matter. You may also just be getting the message with this card that someone cares very deeply about you. This is an emotionally balanced love that you do not need to question. And these feelings will be there for some time, as this King has all of the love in the world to offer, and isn’t going anywhere.

Today’s Tarot Card is the 8 of Swords

Meaning:

The 8 of Swords is never a welcome card in a reading. Nobody wants to not see something coming. This card is a message that some bad luck is on its way. Arrests or situations involving handcuffs even may be the bad news on its way. Either way, this is a simple card of bad luck, but usually nothing life changing. Maybe your car doesn’t start when you go shopping one day, or you get a bill in the mail that you weren’t expecting. The sword in the sand says, you are going to be okay, but you will feel like your hands are tied in a situation that is coming on.

Symbolism:

The 8 of Swords depicts a woman standing in front of several swords while one is stuck in the ground. She is blindfolded and it even looks like she is restrained in some way. The message from this card is that obstacles are in your path when it comes to getting what you want. The blindfold suggests you may not see them, or may not see them coming. The hand restraints suggest that your hands are tied in the situation and there’s nothing you can really do to change events. The sword in the ground suggests, stand your ground anyway, because you have truth on your side.

The 5 of Cups is a Tarot card that is not always a welcome card. You are being reminded that nothing lasts forever, not even pain. Here we see a lone soul with his back turned and his head down. Beside him are 3 cups that have fallen over, while two cups of love remain Meaning. There is a sense of loss and disappointment in this card, but you are being encouraged to note that not all cups are knocked down. The glass is half full! If you want it to be.

Here’s Your Tarot Card Reading for Today!

Meaning:

When this card appears in your day, the message is that you may be building too many castles in the air. At the same time you may also be engaging in less than stellar choices with your integrity, and this card cautions that the writing is on the wall that there is trouble ahead. It may seem like you have a banquet of opportunities in front of you right now, but do you really? Or is it just an illusion? Time to sort out the truth from the fiction in your day when you see this card appear. One choice will be victory, and one, not so much. How will you know? You’ll just know. This card almost always signifies a choice between truth and illusion, and you just need to listen to your instinct.

Symbolism:

The 7 of Cups is a hint at the sides of two worlds, good versus evil, and is always a cautionary tale. Each of the cups in this card is said to represent the 7 deadly sins. We also see symbolism of victories in this card, with the open wreath. The skull right beside it however cautions what cost you will pay for that victory. This is a card of choices, illusions, and truths. And you are the master of your Fate. Which will you decide? Be careful. Every single one of the choices represented here is an illusion.

7 of Wands

Meaning:

This card is all about holding true to your integrity, to what you know is right, and you will win a long sought after reward. The fight that has gotten to you this point has likely been bloody and ugly, and you’ve met with some shady characters along the way. But, like this man, you choose the high road, the high ground, and when you do, you will win every time. You will have had to defend yourself and your honor in this battle, but it’s about to pay off big time. There’s an advantage to this card that is not seen inherently, but is implied with the look of satisfaction on the man’s face. You are about to call check mate on something, and your opponent has no idea what’s coming. It will be a big reward for you when you stick to that high ground.

Symbolism:

In this card we see a man on a hill, his feet are placed in two different directions and he is putting rods or staves, or wands, into the ground with great perseverance. He has already put six in quite successfully, and you can see the determination on his face, and the triumph as well as he begins to place the last and seventh wand. His feet are braced apart as if he is about to make his final move in a game of chess, and metaphorically, he is. And this is the symbolism of this card. This man is about to enter the check mate stage. And it has been a long and difficult road. He has faced some worthy adversaries, and some of them have even been shady. But he has stuck to his integrity and values, and fought an honest fight. And he’s about to win. Check mate.

Today’s Tarot Card is the Four of Pentacles!

Meaning:

The message from the 4 of Pentacles when it arrives in your day is that you are hanging onto something out of fear. There’s nothing wrong with that. We all hang onto things for fear of losing them. This is not an action card, but a card of you pulling everything close to your vest in an effort to maintain control and stability. It often takes great discipline to do so, and so the theme of discipline is also present in your day when you see this card. When this card appears, the message is to have a look at your environment and what you are so afraid of losing. It may not be a bad idea to relax your way about life, as this card brings the message that you have nothing to worry about at all.

Symbolism:

In the 4 of Pentacles we see a man sitting down and holding onto 4 pentacles as if they are his last source of abundance. In a way, they are. This is a man that is fearful of loss. This could be a fear over losing a relationship, fear over losing status, fear over losing a job, or fear over losing money. The symbolism of this card shows the man tightly holding onto these things, worried that they are slowly going to be ungripped from his hands. When this card appears in your day, you are clinging onto security for dear life. And that’s not necessarily a bad thing. Sometimes we need to keep things close to our chest for security reasons.

Today’s Tarot Card Reading is the Two of Swords

Meaning:

There is a sense of no sudden movement with the 2 of Swords, and sometimes that is okay. Sometimes the darkness of cards implies a dark or foreboding future, but with this card this is not the case. We live in a world of instant gratification, and always want to be on the move. This card says, the opposite is required in this situation. This woman may be at a cross roads with these swords, but she is in no hurry to get anywhere any time soon. She is calm, at peace with her journey, and the message is, find a space today where you can do the same.

Symbolism:

In the two of swords we see a woman seated, and blindfolded. The sky is dark giving us the impression that it is night time, and possibly during the wee sleeping hours. The woman is not only blindfolded, but she holds two swords that are crossed before her. There is no movement in this card, Symbolism, it is a card of not taking any action. The situation is a status quo, and one is almost at a cross roads in this situation. The dark sky and the blindfold suggest the answers are not from the external world. You may receive your answers from the dream world, or from going within. But proceed with caution at this time.

Today’s Tarot Card Reading is the Knight of Pentacles!

Meaning:

When the Knight of Pentacles arrives know that you will meet a knight that wants to make your dreams come true, for a very long time to come. This is very similar to the Knight of Cups, but with a more practical tone. Where the Knight of Cups is dreamy and romantic, and there for a long time, the Knight of Pentacles is more practical and reliable. This is the guy you call when your tire is flat, and he will help you out without even blinking. In love this means you are likely involved with a wealthy male or female who can help you find the stable and secure home life you crave. In work or money situations this card says news is on its way that is going to improve your situation, for some time to come.

Symbolism:

The Knight of Pentacles is a card that shows a knight on a horse and carrying a pentacle in his hand. Knights are about the delivery of messages, or represent a young male energy between the ages of 18 and 35 that may be an Earth Sign. This knight is one that is not moving as quickly as the Knight of Pentacles or Knight of Swords. That tells us he has more stability and security to offer than the more energetic knights, and is why the timing of this card could span several months. This one is in for the long haul! He bears good tidings of great joy, and he wants to be here to stay!

You can pin your dreams on this Star, because she is ready to make them come true.
